This is a list of frequently asked questions about Calvary Bible Church. If you have any further questions, we invite you to speak to one of our pastors or office staff by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (908) 534-9445.
Is Calvary Bible Church a member of a denomination?
No. CBC is a non-denominational, independent, Bible-believing church.
How big is your congregation?
The average number of people in our worship service is in the high 200s.
What should I wear to Calvary Bible Church?
You can come as you are! Our members wear anything from suits and ties to jeans and T-shirts, so wear what makes you comfortable. The important thing is to be prepared to worship God.
Do you have childcare on Sunday mornings?
Yes, we have nurseries for infants and toddlers during both our Sunday Small Group time and our Worship Service. We also have Sunday Small Groups that are age appropriate for preschool through high school students, or children are welcome to attend a Small Group with their parents. During our Worship Service, we have Elevate, a special program for children age 3 through 3rd grade. Those children start out in the Worship Service with their parents, and when they are dismissed before the sermon, their parents take them to the foyer where they meet their teachers. Read more about our Children's Ministries here.
How often do you serve communion?
We serve communion once a month on the first Sunday of the month.
Who can take communion?
If you are a born-again believer who has accepted Jesus as Savior, you are welcome to take communion with us.
Do you do baptisms? Do you baptize infants?
We believe that the Bible commands believers to be baptized by immersion after accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. We will baptize children if they are old enough to understand salvation and have accepted Jesus as Savior.
Do you have programs during the week for children and teens?
Yes! We have a thriving Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry. Our ministries for children include twice-monthly meetings of Word of Life Boys Club, Faith Girlz, and Girls of Grace. We also have weekly meetings for our junior and senior high students.
Do you have small groups for adults during the week?
Yes, we have several small groups that meet during the week at CBC or in members's homes.
Do you have Bible Studies?
Yes. In addition to our Sunday and weekday Small Groups, we have both Men's Small Group Bible Studies and Women's Small Group Bible Studies that meet during the week. These groups are open to people from outside CBC, as well as CBC attenders.
Do you have prayer services?
At this time, we do not have a regular prayer service. We do, however, have a men's prayer group, and all of our Small Groups spend time in prayer together.
