We believe that there are two ordinances commanded by Scripture: communion and baptism, which are explained in the Epistles, which were practiced by the early church, and which picture the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Communion
We celebrate communion, in recognition of Jesus's command at the Last Supper to do so in remembrance of Him, on the first Sunday of each month. All born again believers are welcome to join with us in communion. We use matzoh (including gluten-free matzoh for those who need or desire it) and grape juice in our communion.
Baptism
Baptism is commanded in scripture, not as a means of achieving salvation, but as an act of obedience in response to salvation. Following the biblical command, we baptize born again believers by full immersion. Upon being baptized, believers become members of Calvary Bible Church.
